This “ It is hard to find causes Democrats and Republicans both back without hesitation. It is horrific that common ground lies in their mutual willingness to abet genocide.” hit me to my core. Last time I grit my teeth and pinched my nose to vote for Biden. In 2024, I will not be able to ignore the blood on all their hands. We are living thru a genocide in real time. As someone who lived thru unspeakable atrocities in a resistance struggle, what is happening in Gaza IS personal.

Powerfully written, Sarah. Thank you for showing us this horror, with a wider deeper perspective than most media can muster.

This stopped me in my tracks. What a powerful piece. You are brilliant.

I was on my weekly FaceTime call with my sister when the alert announcing this post popped up. We had just started our call with a mental health check-in. Our emotional states were in alignment as to the feeling of an overwhelming tension arising from the information overload. A constant state of trying to keep it together.

You so accurately show the Hybrid, Stochastic, or whatever the currently fashionable name for modern warfare is on display. The technology has reached a level sophisticated enough to allow the recurring phrase “…winning the hearts and minds” to be realized. I prefer your name for it, however. “Satan…and Evil is the default mode”.

As always, your compassionate analysis is spot on. I’ve called out three lines below that really speak to me.

“For fourteen years, I watched people rise up and I watched their governments beat them down.”

“That last part – that is why I stayed. Not for the advice, but for the kindness of the gesture.”

“Good folks are out there. They come from every region and religion. But they are not running governments.”

Such a brave, beautiful heart you have. Thank you.

You had me at “The algorithm was riding vibes. Satan was superfluous and Twitter was a dead see scroll.”

The citation from “Something Wicked this Way Comes” stopped me in my tracks.

Great work. Thanks for what you do.

I forgot to add my answer to todays subtitle, “Are political officials trying to bring on the apocalypse”, question is, “Yes, definitely yes.”

Another fantastic piece that brilliantly ties together the 'Satanic' motifs dominating the news and the stark choice we all face.

You make me want to cry. Your writing is powerful and enlightening, but it always feels like I'm just dipping my toe in because I am afraid of what's coming. So much evil in the world - all in positions of power. It feels like we are powerless.

Sarah, I spent my morning reading the call of Moses from the burning bush with middle schoolers. I identify it as holy scripture for three world religions, and also as myth. But slavery is not myth and moving people is not myth and starvation is not myth, and wrath attributed to G-d while carried out by men is not myth- and fortitude, attributed to the Holy Spirit is not myth. Teaching history illuminates the fierce and forever evil of humanity so that we can fight it forever with love- the forever love of humanity. And with art and restoration and comforting food and threaded needles and connecting with strangers to share all kinds of beautiful gifts. I LOVE your work. And, after reading today’s post I bumped into this morning’s (yes, mainstream media and I’ll check with my astronomer friend this week) announcement of the satan comet. I’m sure the apocalypse cheerleaders like Pompeii will be jazzed about it, a sicko Bethlehem star *insert eye roll here*

This feels like a repeat of 9/11. We have seemingly learned nothing. The same people who were cheerleading the run-up to the Iraq War are abetting this genocide. I feel like no matter what actions we take, nothing's going to change (at least at the federal level).

We live in an Autumn world. The Winter of this world may be more brutal than humanity has ever seen. Will any of us be alive to see a Spring again? We can dream... that is all we have, while we hear each other scream...

Heartbreaking. Powerful. The very essence of 'do not look away'. Although it cuts me to the core, we have to face the horrors head-on. Thank you for your insight and powerful words.

Powerful writing as usual. Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge with us. I lived in Washington DC in the mid seventies while I went to college. It felt then the end of the world was on the horizon. The end always appeared to be centered in the struggle in the Israeli Palestinian conflict. I don’t know what you know except to say my instinct about our times are the same as my instinct in the seventies. Horrific events are occurring in real time in many locations. It does feel as though satan is everywhere. The real question is why are men in power pushing for end times .

The MO for this end times mafia is to create suffering and chaos that might qualify as fulfillment of end times prophecy while enriching themselves off of it. They are effectively commodifying the apocalypse, like the abraham accords (arms deal as false peace in revelation).

The short answer to Sarah's headline is yes and it certainly seems to be working.

I admire Sarah's bravery in wanting to stay and help those who will suffer but I dont think this is a battle decent Americans can win. Trump is probably the antichrist (or at least believes he is) and we should probably get the hell out of this country while we still can.
